ICFF Awards
The ICFF Awards (the “Awards”) honor excellence in new products exhibited at ICFF 2020 in New York City. Presented by Contract, the official magazine of ICFF, these awards recognize the contribution to the contemporary design world through product design and innovation across 11 product categories.
Eligibility:
Nominations for the awards are open to products currently in production and introduced to the U.S. market since January 2019. This competition is open only to designers, manufacturers, and companies exhibiting at ICFF 2020, May 17-20 at the Javits Center in New York City. Employees of Contract and Sponsor, and each of their affiliates, subsidiaries and agents, and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they live) or persons living in the same households of such individuals, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age as of the date of entry. Prototypes are not eligible.
JURY:
Jurors include practicing architects and interior designers and industry experts working across a range of commercial and residential sectors. The 2020 awards jury will be announced soon. The judges shall examine all the designs submitted by the participants, determine whether they conform to the rules and conditions, and exclude any which do not.
SUBSTITUTES:
If for any reason an appointed jury member becomes unable to present at the jury meeting, Contract magazine is entitled to appoint a substitute. Any alterations of the jury members will be announced on Contract magazine’s web site.
JUDGING CRITERIA: The products nominated for the award will be judged according to the following criteria:
- Relevance: to what extent the design serves the specific purpose it was designed for
- Usability: design quality: excellence and durability, ease of use, and ergonomics
- Creativity: originality and aesthetic quality in terms of the use of materials, form, color and the user experience
- Innovation: in terms of function, form, craftsmanship, materials and techniques used
- Sustainability: in terms of production through demonstrated respect for the environment, reducing waste and waste production, disassembly at the end of the product’s life cycle, and social responsibility, if applicable.
The judges shall examine all the designs submitted by the participants, entries will receive a numerical ranking from 1 to 5 based on: product relevance, usability, creativity, innovation and sustainability. Finalists will be judged live at ICFF on Sunday, May 17.

- Furniture Collectino (non-seating)
- Kitchen and Bath
- Lighting
- Outdoor Furniture
- Seating
- Surfacing Material
- Technology
- Textiles and Wallcoverings
- All winners will be considered as finalists for Best in Show.
Entry Deadline and Fees: First deadline for entries: April 6, 2020 ($95 per entry, $50 for each additional entry). Second deadline for entries: April 20, 2020 (+$25 late fee per entry).
Awards and Recognition: In each category, judges will select finalist awards if the jury believes that the specific work is of extremely high caliber. Finalists will be notified the morning of ICFF and the winners will be recognized during an official awards ceremony at ICFF on May 17, 2020 at the Javits Center. Winners also receive a personalized award as well as coverage in Contract magazine’s print and digital editions and on the ICFF website. Entries are previewed digitally by the jurors and finalists are declared in 11 categories prior to the opening day of ICFF.

Step 2: Create a login
Once a login is created, you can complete the rest of the entry and upload images (myst be 72 dpi and at least 4-inch by 5-inch in size. With your login, you may also begin an entry, and then return to complete it later.
Step 3: Complete the entry form and upload images
Step 4: First deadline for entries: April 6, 2020 ($95 per entry, $50 for each additional entry). Second deadline for entries: April 20, 2020 (+$25 late fee per entry). There is no limit to the number of submissions. Payment is accepted via PayPalPro with a credit or debit card.

By submitting an entry, you (a) represent and warrant that you own the exclusive rights and/or have obtained all necessary third-party consents to submit all content, including any images, photography, logos or multimedia, for consideration, (b) grant Sponsor and its designees, licensees or affiliates a fully paid, worldwide license to use, distribute, display, reproduce, publish, republish and create derivative works of the entry in any media now or hereafter known, including but not limited to, print or digital publication in Contract magazine and (c) agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Sponsor and its partners, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, agents and their employees, officers, directors, and representatives from any and all third-party claims arising from the entry and use of any such images submitted in connection with the competition.
By participating, participants release and agree to hold harmless Sponsor, its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies and all of their respective directors, officers, employees, representatives and agents from any and all liability for any injury, loss or damage of any kind to persons (including, without limitation, death) or property, arising directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from or in connection with the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize, participation in this competition, or any competition-related activity. NOTWITHSTANDING THE FOREGOING, IN THE EVENT THAT THE PRECEDING RELEASE IS DETERMINED BY A COURT OF COMPETENT JURISDICTION TO BE INVALID OR VOID FOR ANY REASON, THE PARTICIPANT AGREES THAT, BY ENTERING THE COMPETITION, (I) ANY CLAIMS, JUDGMENTS AND AWARDS SHALL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS INCURRED, BUT IN NO EVENT ATTORNEYS’ FEES; AND (II) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL ANY PARTICIPANT BE PERMITTED TO OBTAIN ANY AWARD FOR, AND PARTICIPANT HEREBY WAIVES ALL RIGHTS TO CLAIM, ANY OTHER DAMAGES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
Governing Law
By entering, participants agree that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of participants and Sponsor in connection with the competition, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the substantive laws of the State of California without regard to its conflicts of law provisions. All participants hereby consent to the jurisdiction and venue of the federal or state courts located in Orange County, California.
